Sergio Zunino
Utimaco Group
After serving as an officer in the German Armed Forces, Zunino devoted 30 years to Bayer, working in Berlin, the United States, Spain, South America and at the headquarters in Germany/Leverkusen. During this time he got increasing responsibilities, starting with the appointment to the Treuhandanstalt for the privatization of state-owned companies, the establishment of the first shared service center for the Bayer Group to CFO & CAO in South America and finally to global process manager for sales and revenue accounting. He was able to play a key role in shaping the current Group reporting system and was also substantially involved in major structural changes such as the acquisition of the Schering Group. Through these roles, he gained cross-functional knowledge of processes in terms of their cultural and local requirements, but also taking into account the overall corporate needs. Currently, Zunino is leading the global integration of Bayer-Monsanto accounting through the merger of the respective local country organizations.
